President-elect (2011) of the Behavioural, Epidemiology and Health Services Research (BEHSR) Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR)

Professor McGrath has numerous local, national and international memberships and roles. He is on the editorial board of three ISI journals.

Teaching Profile:

Undergraduate: Undergraduate Programme Director (Dental Public Health); Chief Examiner BDS IV; Elected member of the Curriculum Development Committee, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong.

Postgraduate: Assistant Dean for Postgraduate & Continuing Education, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. Trainer for the Speciality of Community Dentistry, Hong Kong College of Dental Surgeons, Hong Kong SAR, China.

Research Supervision: Convenor of the Public Health & Healthy Ageing Research Group, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. In the past decade he has supervised 10 research postgraduate students (PhD students) and over 20 taught postgraduate students (MSc ,MDS and MOrtho students). Currently (2011) 16 research postgraduate students are under Professor McGrath supervision (several focusing on special care dentistry)
