Apply for the Spring Scientific Meeting now! The application form for the Spring conference 'There is no I in team.....!' is now available to download. The meeting takes place on 7th May, at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and will focus on the treatment for oral cancer and the interface with Special Care Dentistry. Are you a Trainee in Special Care Dentistry? BSDH is considering how it might support dentists on SCD Specialist Training programmes. Winter Scientific meeting handouts now available The handouts for the December Scientific meeting are now available to download Guidelines for the Delivery of a Domiciliary Oral Healthcare service These revised guidelines, by Debbie Lewis and Janice Fiske, were launched on 19th August, in Poole Special Care Dentistry book from BDA Clinical Guide series You can register your interest in this book, by Janice Fiske, Alison Dougall and Debbie Lewis, via the BDA website NICE Guideline: When to Suspect Child Maltreatment This guidance, aimed at health, social and education professionals was published on 20th July. A section on Oral Health starts on page 74. Joint BSDH/ ISDH Executive Commitee Meeting in Dublin A Joint Committee Meeting was held on 25th June 2009 at Dublin Dental Institute. Collaboration between the Societies was discussed and it is planned that guidelines will be produced jointly. The following day, the ISDH Annual Scientific meeting, opened by Irish President and Patron of ISDH, Mary McAleese, was held.
