Special Care Dentistry - Training and Mediation.

The GDC agreed in December 2005 to the principle of the establishment of a Specialist List in Special Care Dentistry (SCD). The Council Meeting of 3rd and 4th  September 2008 agreed to the setting up of a speciality in Special Care Dentistry, from 1st October 2008.

The two year transitional period for joining the List on the basis of existing specialist training, qualifications and experience between 1 October 2008 and 30 September 2010 has now closed.

Trainees in Special Care Dentistry

The BSDH Executive Committee supports Trainees in SCD by co-opting a StR Representative onto its Executive Committee. There are also opportunities to present at Scientific Meetings and support to present at an IADH Congress. If you are a Trainee in SCD please contact Rob Hale for further information.
